BCCI has made many new rules for IPL 2025 and this time mega auction is going to be very interesting. As per IPL’s new retention rules, each team has been given an opportunity to retain 6 players or re-induct players using RTM. Kohli has proved to be a key player for RCB in IPL 2024 and played a major role in taking the team to the playoffs. Not only this, Kohli won the Orange Cap in IPL 2024 and scored 741 runs in 15 matches. Speaking to Colors Cineplex, RP Singh said that if Kohli remains in the team, other players like Mohammad Siraj and Rajat Patidar can be brought back in the auction using RTM cards.

RP Singh said, “RCB will only retain Virat Kohli and release all other players in the squad and use the right to match card option. RCB should have no problem with this. If we take the example of Rajat Patidar, we can buy him at an auction for less than Rs 11 crore. According to me, Rajat Patidar can be contracted at a lower price and then you can buy him back at the auction. Let’s say even if it costs close to 11 crores, you have RTM that you can use there.”
Apart from Indian players, RCB’s squad includes star foreign players like Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green and Will Jack. Of these, all eyes will be on which foreign player RCB will retain.
